Liberado(NZ) ran out an easy winner over the straight mile at the Vaal on Christmas Eve, he relished the soft underfoot conditions and Denis Schwarz came from near the back of the field on him to win going away. It should pay to follow Liberado(NZ) in similar conditions, he has ability and should win more races this season. Congratulations to Owners; Ralphs Racing (Pty) Ltd (Nominee Miss K Ralphs); Pravin Chetty, Adrian Giuricich; Gerald Kalil & Greg Sadie. Liberado(NZ) was bred by Caradale (Pty) Ltd, NSW, Australia
Denis Schwarz who becomes a fully-fledged jockey on 13th January 2020 rode a good race, to get Master & Man up by a short head, at the Vaal on Christmas eve. Master & Man dwelt at the start and Denis found himself further back than he wanted to be, to make matters worse they slowed the pace down to a crawl, which is not ideal for Master & Man. But Denis made up ground early in the straight on Master & Man and ultimately this move won him the race, which turned out to be a bit of a sprint to the line. This was Master & Man’s 4th win and this Await the Dawn gelding is on the up, it should pay to follow him through the season. Congratulations to owners Bruce & Jo Gardner & Gary Alexander. Master & Man was bred by Summerhill Stud!
After finishing two good seconds in his last two starts in Feature races, Chijmes always looked like the horse to beat in the Progress Plate at Turffontein over 1400m on 14 December 2019. He did not disappoint and was always in control to win a good contest under a good ride by apprentice Denis Schwarz. Congratulations to owners Mr & Mrs JM Ulcoq & Mr & Mrs R Napier. Chijmes was bred by Summerhill Stud.
