Prospector gave jockey Denis Schwarz’s an early 21st birthday present at Turffontein Racecourse on Sunday 05 July 2020. Denis who celebrates his 21st on the 6th July 2020 gave Prospector a copy book ride, he led from pillar to post and timed it perfectly to get the Traffic Guard gelding home to win by over a length to spare at the line. It was a win full of merit by Prospector, he broke his maiden in only his second time of asking over the testing 1600 meters on Turffontein Standside track. He should continue to improve. Super Fine finally brought her track work to the racetrack and won her maiden, easily over 1500m at the Vaal Racecourse on 30 June 2020. Jockey Denis Schwarz had her in contention from the start and she responded well when he asked her for an effort. She should go on from here. Magic School confirmed that she has a touch of class when she won a 1600m Allowance Plate at Turffontein Racecourse on Sunday 14 June 2020. Confidently ridden by jockey Denis Schwarz, he had Magic School well placed, she quickened well in the straight, and stayed on strongly to win a good contest. Magic School is owned and bred by Drakenstein Stud(Nominee Mrs G Rupert)
Nimcha fought courageously to hold off late challenges and gain victory over 2000m at the Vaal on 10 February 2020, it was another top ride by jockey Gavin Lerena. This was Nimcha’ s 4th win and there should be more in store for him. Congratulations to owner Poovie Moonsamy. Nimcha was bred by Summerhill Stud.
Saturday 15 February 2020 was a great day for the stable our four winners, General Jackson; Fierce Fighter Chijmes and Saragon, was the eleventh time we achieved four winners on a day at the same venue. Our first goes all the way back to 19th May 1987, when Dispensation; Ganymede, Good Books and Wallah all won!
Then we have our six winners on a day at the same venue to add, this we achieved twice, first on the 09 July 1994 and then on 09 August 1995.
It was a long road back for Saragon, but she is now back to her best and showed her class to win a competitive FM Pinnacle Plate over 1600m at Turffontein on 15 February 2020. Well ridden by top jockey Chase Maujean, he had Saragon just off the early pace and asked her for an effort early in the straight, she responded well and kept finding to win well. Congratulations to owners’ Mesdames AM Venter and M Jeffery and Mr S Jeffery. Saragon was bred by Mr SJD Mynhardt.
Top jockey Piere Strydom gave Chijmes a perfect ride to win a competitive Pinnacle Stakes over 1800m at Turffontein Racecourse on 15 February 2020. Strydom had Chijmes beautifully placed from the start and when he asked him to run, Chijmes quickened well and ran to the line to win a good contest. Another top ride by apprentice Luke Ferraris to get Fierce Fighter to win his maiden over 2600m at Turffontein racecourse on 15 February 2020. He placed Fierce Fighter in a winning position from a wide draw and got him going early in the straight and kept him going for a comfortable victory. General Jackson cruised to victory when he shed his maiden tag over 1600m at Turffontein on 15 February 2020. Champion apprentice Luke Ferraris had him well placed from the start and when he asked him to run, he quickened well to win by 5 lengths at the line. Thandekhile was too good for the boys at the Vaal on Thursday 06 February 2020 over 1450m. Racing at the Vaal for the first time and up against the colts, jockey Denis Schwarz had Thandekhile well placed from the start. When he asked her or an effort ,she quickened well and had the race sewn up with 200m to go. She should keep improving and it may pay to follow her this season.
