Leading apprentice Denis Schwarz rode a confident race aboard Duke of Swing over 1400m at Turffontein on 20 August 2019. He led soon after the start and went from pillar to post to win easily by two- & three-quarter lengths at the line. Duke of Swing is progressive, and he should have more wins in him. Mount Laurel produced a powerful finish under a good ride from Denis Schwarz, in her debut run to get up on the line over 1000m at Turffontein on 17 August 2019. Denis Schwarz rode a confident race on The Sands over 1200m at the Vaal on the 15 August 2019 and produced him at the right time to win going away. Carrying top weight, The Bosbok fought off a late challenge to win over 2000m at Turffontein on 10 August 2019. He conceded 10kg to the runner up and was all guts under a top ride by apprentice Denis Schwarz. Champion South African Jockey Lyle Hewitson gave Marula a magic ride to get him up close home, at Greyville over 1000m on the Polytrack on 31 July 2019. Lyle had Marula up with the pace on when he asked him, he quickened well and under a strong ride from Lyle he kept going to win by a long head. Zeal & Zest in a ding dong battle fought to the line to get up close home, at The Vaal on Thursday 25 July 2019, over 2400m. It was a courageous win by the Traffic Guard gelding under a strong ride from Apprentice Denis Schwarz. Zeal & Zest is now a six-time winner.
