Apprentice Denis Schwarz rode a copy book race and got Animal Lover(AUS) to find more where it mattered most to crack her maiden, over 2000m at the Vaal Racecourse, on 26 April 2018. This was Animal Lover’s(AUS) first attempt over this distance and she won a good race, in spite of racing green. She should keep improving and it may pay to follow her. Sha Boom Sha Boom ran on resolutely from near the back of the field to win a competitive MR 76 FM Handicap at the Vaal on Thursday 12 April 2018. Well ridden by jockey Chase Maujean, he had her switched off in the early stages and when he asked her for an effort she finished well to get home near the line. Congratulations to owner Mrs Joyce Wallace.
There is no doubt that AP Chanel runs her best races when Lyle Hewitson rides her. After yesterday Lyle has won 3 on her , 2 seconds and a third from 7 rides. She came from way back but moved up well in the straight and when Lyle asked her she responded well to win going away, at the Vaal over 2000m on Saturday 24 March 2018. Odd Rob found his best form to win a competitive MR 67, 2400m at the Vaal on 06 March 2018. Well ridden by Jockey Ryan Munger, he gave Odd Rob a patient ride from a wide draw and when he asked him for an effort Odd Rob produced a strong finish to come from almost last to win comfortably at the line. Champagne Haze can turn it on and when he does, he is absolutely brilliant! Under a superb and well judged ride by leading apprentice Lyle Hewitson, Champagne Haze produced an astonishing finish to come from way off the pace to win going away in the Tommy Hotspur Handicap(GR3)at Turffontein on Saturday 17 February 2018. A race close to our hearts, because we were fortunate enough to train the great “ Tommy Hotspur.” This was Champagne Haze’s prep run for the Senor Santa(GR2), which he won in similar fashion last year. Team Valor recently acquired this up and coming daughter of Lope De Vega(IRE) and the purchase by Barry Irwin may be on the button. Under a cool ride by apprentice Denis Schwarz, he dropped Radiant Splendour(AUS) off the pace and produced her at the right time to win her second start and keep her unbeaten record, over 1400m at Turffontein Racecourse, on Saturday 27 January 2018. Jockey Ryan Munger always had Saragon in touch with the leaders and rode a good race to get Saragon home by over a length at the line to win her maiden in good style, at Turffontein Racecourse on 27 January 2018 over 1160m. This was Saragon’s first win and this daughter of Ideal World(USA) shouldn’t stop here! Congratulations to owners, Mesdames A Venter, M Jeffery & Mr S Jeffery.
Top workrider Sam Mosia rode a copybook race to win on Going Going Gone at Turffontein Racecourse over 1600m on Saturday 27 January 2018. Hero’s Honour ran out an impressive winner under leading jockey Anthony Delpech to break his maiden over 1600m on Saturday 20 January 2018 at Turffontein Racecourse. A masterful ride by jockey Piere Strydom on board Candy Kisses at Turffontein Racecourse over 1400m, on Saturday 7 January 2018, saw her shed her maiden tag in good style. Candy Kisses blinkered for the first time was out in a flash, overcame the deep draw and Strydom just kept her balanced to win a good contest. She should go on from here.
