News from Gary Alexander Racing Stables
Earlier in his career The Bee Eff Gee showed that he needed ground, but when tried, he just was not strong enough to handle it. He has taken time to come to hand and won a good race over 2000m at Turffontein on Saturday 23 February 2019 to shed his maiden tag. Under a strong ride from Jockey Sherman Brown he got the chestnut Await The Dawn gelding to produce a sustained finish and hit the front in the final few strides. Congratulations to owners; A llinder; S Louw & D Alexander. The Bee Eff Gee was bred by Summerhill Stud.
Liberado(NZ) has always shown good potential and it has been a bit frustrating that he didn’t shed his maiden tag in his first few starts, A combination of different things led to him being a tad luckless at times. But he got it all right and won a good contest over 1600m at Turffontein on Saturday 23 February 2019 to crack his maiden in good style. Another good ride by top apprentice Denis Schwarz, he had Liberado(NZ) well placed and produced him at the right time to win well. It’s always a slight concern taking young horses to the Vaal Racecourse for the first time to race. You can never really be certain how they are going to handle the trip and how it will affect their performance. It was no problem for Kimberley Green she took it all in her stride and produced a powerful finish to win a competitive maiden 1450m on Thursday 27 December 2018. Denis Schwarz got her in the box seat from the start and was just biding his time behind the front runners. She responded instantly when he asked her for an effort and she ran on well to win a good contest. Congratulations to owners Anthony Joannides, Greg Sadie, Kirk Michael, Mark Wright & Gary Alexander. Kimberley Green was bred by Maine Chance Farms!
Apprentice Denis Schwarz rode a well judged race on The Bosbok. He took him to the lead from the start and timed it beautifully to keep him going to win a good race over 2450m at Turffontein on 17 December 2018. The manner in which The Bosbok won suggests he should have more wins in him this season. The Bosbok was bred by Summerhill stud.
