Champion South African Jockey Lyle Hewitson gave Marula a magic ride to get him up close home, at Greyville over 1000m on the Polytrack on 31 July 2019. Lyle had Marula up with the pace on when he asked him, he quickened well and under a strong ride from Lyle he kept going to win by a long head.
