Matsuri ran on strongly under a polished ride from up & coming jockey Craig Zackey to win comfortably over 1600m at Turffontein on the 10th September 2016. He placed Matsuri in the box seat and timed his run to perfection in the home straight to allow Matsuri to win going away. Matsuri got it all right to win the second race of her career at Turffontein on Saturday 13 August 2016. Jockey Andrew Fortune had the daughter of Admire Main well placed throughout and when he asked her for an effort, she powered home in the final 400m to win a good contest.
